You can set priorities, due dates, labels, filters and tags later, once you learn about them. There’s a super short walk-through of where to find your projects and your to-do list, and it points you to a more detailed “getting started” document if you need it. ![]() Immediately upon creating an account in Todoist, users can create their first project and start adding tasks to it. Additionally, the Business plan offers team inbox features, which can be useful for collaborating with a larger team. It includes 100MB of file uploads, unlimited activity history and automatic backups. It allows users to create up to 500 active projects, with 50 collaborators per project. The Business plan costs $6 per user per month (or $8 per user per month if billed monthly) and offers even more features. Themes and team inbox features are also included in the Pro plan. The Pro plan costs $4 per month (or $5 per month if billed monthly) and allows users to create up to 300 active projects, with 25 collaborators per project. Additionally, themes and team inbox features are not available in the free plan. The plan also includes 5MB of file uploads, one week of activity history and no auto backups. It allows users to create up to five active projects, with five collaborators per project. The Free plan is, as the name suggests, completely free. To do this, you’ll need a template, such as the one offered by YNAB. Users can set budgets for specific tasks or projects and track spending against those budgets to ensure they stay on track financially. ![]() By setting dependencies between tasks, users can ensure that they are completing tasks in the correct order and that they are not blocked by incomplete tasks. Dependenciesĭependencies are another critical feature of project management that Todoist supports, provided you use an integration such as Ganttify. Examples of integrations include PomoDone, Slack, Time Doctor, Timetrap, Zapier and Zendesk. These integrations can help streamline workflows and reduce the need to switch between different apps. Todoist also offers a wide range of software integrations, which allow users to connect the app with other tools and services they use for their work. This type of chart provides a timeline view of a project’s tasks and dependencies, so you can see how different tasks relate to one another and pivot as needed. Gantt charts are another popular project management feature that is available through an integration. This view makes it easy to see upcoming deadlines and adjust plans accordingly. TimelinesĪnother key feature of Todoist is timelines, though you’ll need to use an integration for it, which provides a visual representation of project progress over time. This helps ensure everyone knows what they’re responsible for and can work together efficiently. ![]() One of Todoist’s core features is its role assignment capabilities, which allow users to assign specific tasks to team members or collaborators. While some of its features are only available with integrations, the app still provides a variety of tools for managing tasks, lists and projects. Todoist is a simple project management tool that offers several core features to help users stay organized and on top of their workload. ![]() In a matter of days, they have received more than 300,000 applications, with thousands of new applications starting via PPP Fast Lane every hour. Womply’s goal is to reach 1 million people with their PPP Fast Lane program. It’s better for everyone if these funds can get out to these eligible but underserved non-employer businesses in their ecosystem so that they can receive the capital that they need to survive,” says Capoccia. “Our urgent need is for all YPO members to reach out to their networks to help spread awareness to sole proprietors and independent contractors to let them know the PPP is available to them. The system also automates the application process for payback forgiveness of both loans, in practice turning these low-interest loans into grants. Two weeks later, when the user is eligible for a second draw, PPP Fast Lane will submit that application and then deposit the funds again when the second draw is approved. Throughout the flow the user completes the process to receive a first draw, then starts the process to receive a second draw. The entire process is streamlined to make it as smooth as possible for the user to apply. Once approved, the funding is deposited into the user’s bank account, which is connected at the start of the application process as part of Fast Lane’s fraud prevention and identity verification. The user electronically signs the loan application, and it is submitted to the SBA. The data elements provided in the sign-up page populate the application for the PPP loan. From the user experience perspective, the process is completely integrated. The program is connected to multiple SBA-approved lenders, including Fountainhead, led by CEO Chris Hurn, another YPO member. When a person uses the PPP Fast Lane to submit their loan application, the entire process happens seamlessly on the back end. Even though they are non-employers and they pay themselves, they are eligible,” says Cory Capoccia, Womply President and YPO member in San Francisco and Park City. ![]() “Most people, if they are a sole proprietor or independent contractor, may not recognize that they are eligible for the paycheck protection program. Congress intended for PPP to reach small businesses, but less than 3% of all previous funding went to businesses with one or zero employees during 2020. The entire program is set to expire on March 31, 2021. Now through March 9, 2021, the SBA will only accept and approve first or second PPP loan applications from applicants with fewer than 20 employees. Currently, the SBA is focused exclusively on low- to middle-income (LMI) companies. All are eligible for the PPP loan, which is offered through the Small Business Administration (SBA). If the applicant can check these boxes, they can proceed to apply for their first draw of funding, their second draw of funding, and apply for loan forgiveness - all at one time through the PPP Fast Lane.Įligible businesses include nonprofits, veteran’s organizations, tribal concerns, self-employed individuals, sole proprietorships and independent contractors. bank account that is accessible online access to a PDF version of your 2019 tax filing and have not previously received a PPP or Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). They can now complete the entire loan application process using their mobile phone by applying through the PPP Fast Lane, developed and provided free of charge by Womply, a technology company offering a local commerce platform for small businesses. The process to get this loan could not be easier - especially if the applicant did not receive funding during the first PPP rollout in 2020. ![]() Recent federal legislation has made USD285 billion available to restart PPP. For sole proprietors, independent contractors and self-employed individuals in the United States, now is the time to complete an application to get Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans up to a maximum of USD41,666. ![]() “Something called the ‘gain spiral’ sees the workplace as being able to create and nurture better home lives, and consequently a better home life is creating more engaged, productive and innovative employees,” says Nadin.Įmployers should also be wary of offering lower pay in exchange for work-life balance they should consider what they can do to support employees to achieve this balance, rather than reducing pay in a competitive labour market.Ĭlare Kelliher, professor of work and organisation at Cranfield School of Management, says that significant numbers of employees claiming they would accept a lower salary in return for a better work-life balance “should send an important message to employers about the value employees place on their non-work lives”. "For professionals who haven’t paused for thought for a while, it’s wise to have a career check-in from time to time to avoid ending up in a job where you’re not progressing, or you are simply unhappy.”īut Gethin Nadin, psychologist and chief innovation officer at Benefex, says things have changed, as while “historically the workplace fought against our home lives”, the most successful employers are now “realising that there is a symbiotic relationship” between the home and our work. Yvonne Smyth, director at Hays, points out that because many people work from anywhere, some feel as though they are ‘always on’, blurring the lines between work and family life. Indeed, this phenomenon is also a pandemic backlash. The UK has a particular problem with achieving and maintaining a sensible work-life balance, as evidenced in the CIPD’s UK Working Lives survey, which found that many UK employees felt their job made it “hard to switch off” in their downtime. Why would people choose balance over pay? ![]() “I imagine it would be higher, but given a cost of living crisis and soaring inflation, for many this is simply unachievable,” says Carr, adding that organisations should view the data as a “call to action” to create cultures that enable and “value work-life balance and provide greater flexibility”. So why is work-life balance more important than pay at a time when wages are not matching inflation?ĭr Melissa Carr, director of equity, diversity and inclusion at Henley Business School's World of Work Institute, says it is an aftershock of the pandemic, which left people feeling “fatigued”, wanting to “take stock and re-evaluate” their lives – but caveats that the figure of those wanting better work-life balance over pay would likely be higher if it wasn’t for the economic climate. Interestingly, the Aviva research also found that, before the pandemic, employees valued pay over work-life balance. An earlier report from Aviva in September last year found that two fifths (41 per cent) of employees were attracted to their current role because of the work-life balance – which is five percentage points higher than those who cited salary. It found that a third (33 per cent) of workers consider work-life balance to be the most “crucial consideration” when looking for a job.īut that’s not all. As the cost of living causes many employees to ask for a monthly pay boost from their employer, and pay disputes in the private sector spark a wave of industrial action across the UK, new research has found work-life balance could trump a higher wage.Ī recent report by Hays revealed that more than half (56 per cent) of employees are willing to accept a lower-paid job in exchange for a better work-life balance. ![]() slidypresentation - HTML presentations with slidy. For each one, I signed up and ran the editor through its paces, testing various scenarios, like spotting and fixing spelling and grammar errors or cutting fluff to make the text more concise. But I was also keen to review the competition and see what I was potentially missing out on.
